Join the Chain Gang for an easy spin along the river path, as we build up our miles to get ready for the longer rides ahead.
The route takes us through the wonderful San Gabriel River Bike Path (SGRT) along the scenic San Gabriel River, across the Santa Fe Dam and continuing down the bike path towards the ocean. It’s a mostly flat ride with a great view of the river and all the beautiful nature along the route.
This time, we keep going past the Rio Hondo/Whittier Narrows junction and the Fairway Golf Course and continue all the way to Wilderness Park as our pitstop and turn-around point (restrooms and water are available). From there, we will retrace our route, past the golf course and finally tackling the short climb back up to Santa Fe Dam on our way back to Encanto Park.
Directions and Parking: please park along the street (on East side) just outside the main Encanto Parking lot, and look for the bright orange ALC Training Ride Leader vests to find us, since many different cyclists meet for rides at this park.
