“Join the Chain Gang for the full version of our famous River Ride, with 78 miles of beautiful car-free cycling along the river path all the way from Duarte to the end in Seal Beach/Long Beach. With a long, mostly flat ride through beautiful countryside and with practically no cars, this is the perfect preparation ride for ALC not long before we ride out of the Cow Palace – on a safe route, you can practice your spinning and get in some good mileage.
We start from Encanto Park in Duarte with a loop up to San Gabriel Canyon, then turn around to make our way down the river path. After an exciting ride across Santa Fe Dam, we continue all the way down to the ocean with lots of delicious options for a well-deserved lunch break in Seal Beach (from restaurants to a big WholeFoods with a giant buffet section)
This is the perfect ride for building up your miles and getting in some great training for upcoming centuries (and of course ALC), so join us for a beautiful ride! You CAN do it and the ALC-certified Training Ride Leaders are here to make sure you have all the support and encouragement you need. We are friendly, fun and ALL skill levels are welcome. NO RIDER WILL EVER BE LEFT BEHIND.
EVERYONE is welcome and encouraged to join The Chain Gang for this scenic and fun bike ride! We will meet at Encanto Park at 7:30AM – please be prepared for our safety presentation at 7:45AM (mandatory)

All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations as well as COVID regulations.!
