Join the Chain Gang for a special Skills Clinic to learn how to climb, descend and build your cycling fitness with some interval training. We will meet at our usual spot in Griffith Park at Merry Go Round Lot 3 (lower lot by the playground) and start with a short introduction to gears, brakes, and the basics of tackling hills on your bike. To help you build your cycling fitness, we will also demonstrate some speed drills and show you how plan interval sets. Then we take our new skills out on the road with several loops up and down two of the shorter hills in the park to practice different climbing and descending techniques, with a flat loop in between and some sprint intervals sprinkled in. All skill levels are welcome – this is a great clinic for learning and practicing the basics and get comfortable with the ups and downs of hills.
